Changes for Authoring tool version 1.2.9

  • Corrected an issue with version checking.
  • Resizing flash objects, flash videos and images should function better.
  • Corrected an error where nothing was selected, but actions could still be performed.
  • Corrected an error when trying to replace one media object with another (or text).
  • Assessment nodes with media will now display the correct icon.
  • Users are now warned about unavailable features before previewing.
  • The preview and publish menu items are no longer available when an internet connection is not available.
  • Corrected the background color of edit assessment dialog.

New Version and Website Released

This industry-leading Virtual Patient application has now released version update (1.2.9).

DiagnosisX, the only Virtual Patient application that allows case authors to publish directly to the Web without IT support, simulates a clinical encounter and permits healthcare students to the opportunity to practice their diagnostic skills on a Virtual Patient, to develop a hypothese, and then to assess themselves against an expert practitioner.

The DiagnosisX website has been redesigned to improve the look and feel of the site, highlight the intuitive nature of the application, and facilitate user navigation. Version 1.2.9 allows the learner to interact with a Virtual Patient and focus on clinical approaches to patient assessment, management and care.

DiagnosisX version 1.2.9 offers additional exciting new features:

  • Improved editorial functionality
  • The ability to score a question and to assign a cost to procedures or tests
  • A redesigned assessment facility, allowing the creation of multiple choice questions
  • A management console that provides administrators with:
    • A bird’s eye view of the student users who have completed the case including the export of this data to an excel spreadsheet
    • Easy access to the case traces of student users that have completed the case, including their score on the case if applicable
    • The ability to edit a case’s metadata directly from the management console
    • The ability to hide/show or delete a case from the case collection directly from the management console
